Welcome to Laboratory Database Designs (aka LabDBDesigns).
The Variance Tracker is a Microsoft Access designed database, but you do not need to have MS Access to use it*.  The Variance Tracker can be run under MS Access, or independently from it! Do you need a low cost networked database solution? The Variance Tracker can be networked on 25 active terminals at once (i.e., the database can be used by up to 25 people at the same time - many more if only used for lookup purposes.

 

 

 

 

LabDBDesigns' flagship product is the Laboratory Variance Tracker. The Tracker allows you
record process variance (based on your own definitions) and track them in a network environment,
with extensive reporting and charting capabilities.

Here are some features of the Laboratory Variance Tracker:

  • Allows recording of variances as they occur with 24/7 access.
  • Very little IT involvement required. - can automatically performs compaction and repair at night
  • Two levels of user input: secured and unsecured.
  • Quick, easy and accurate recording of variances by extensive use of drop down menus.
  • All significant data elements customizable "on the fly".
  • Categorizes variances for statistical analysis.
  • Provides detailed reports for educational purposes - drills down the data specific to location, variance type, personnel involved, and time period.
  • Charting for broad overview for administrative purposes and goal setting.
  • Individual variance or group reports can be emailed and/or printed anytime from within the application.**
  • Requires accountability for follow up by assigning each variance to a department manager or reviewer.
  • Special tracking for variances involving FDA and Physician concern.
  • Helps meet JACHO, CAP compliance
  • May also be easily expanded for other uses; i.e., Quality Assurance Indicators, and instrument downtime.

*Must be using Windows XP with SP2 or greater.
** Requires Microsoft Outlook and a free Snapshot add-in (ask your IT dept to install Snapshot for MS Access)
